As I look into a field of green,

The grass dances with a bright young sheen,

The blades tickle their neighbors with innocent joy,

As they lovingly hug this visiting boy

As he smiles and looks into the emerald bays

Hazel trees tip and sway so free

They sing with the grass and dance with the wind

And watch the boy as he discovers beauty again.

My finger outstretched as it travels your cheek

Trembles with love and all that is weak

Through dark and light your fields shine true

Green fields of need known to so few

I have grown to know and believe all I see

Now all I see but your lips and your soul be,

All but your hearts uncertainty

Green fields do you quiver so with joy

As you lay before this admiring boy

If it be let your vast fields but blink,

And take me standing before you as this boy

I stand in but a field of green, surrounded by all I wish

Held back by all I know and all I see

Now I close my eyes and you are all that lay before me

You and your fields of green , and I but this poor lost boy

Who loves you, captured by your emerald sea, sighs.

For I need nothing else to bring me love and joy

So I return to my fields where I am safe.

And now for all the places I have been

And all the people I have known

Wish to call these green fields

My home.

dylan h…..(this was my first published poem four years ago)

Yellow rose

Oh, yellow rose how do you lay, so sweet

Upon unsettled ground you lay before my feet.

You lay with life born by a single tear

You lay with love and all I hold dear,

And bending down, now I lay with none but you

In a field of grass born under a blanket of dew.

Picking you up I smell your sweet breath,

And pull you in till you lay upon my chest.

I deliver a kiss upon your silky skin

And rest my head against your lowered chin.

Now looking up to the stars above,

I wonder how it may seem, if not a dream,

That walking here, in a field, and endless sea

It came to be. That I saw you, and you saw me.

With a field so grand full of roses so sweet

It was you that I found stretched before my feet.

My view is but of a yellow rose, living in a golden hue,

And the stars watching from overhead struggle to reflect you.

Held fast set so in your ways refuse to let it be said,

That you stand over all who are red.

An opus, so perfect, you swim through the jade bay.

I take a quiet step back, and I sit to watch you flow with life’s breaths,

You lean and sway with all that has ever been said,

Life’s words of wisdom which flow from each heart tipped head.

And now sitting here, I have heard all which they have said,

So I lean back till I rest my head, down upon this emerald bed,

And I smile because my words which have taken flight,

Hover between me and your warming light.

With a sigh, I strain to say what must be said,

“I LOVE YOU BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT RED.”

Wow…i just had one of the best weekends I have had in a long time. I was talking with my girl tess and we decided it would be a great idea to go to santa cruz for the weekend. She hadnt been there for 7 years and i hadnt been there for a few months so we decided it would be a great way to spend the weekend. She decided to drive since her ford focus got much better mileage then my car. It was just her, her dog oscar and I and we were going to stay at my friend nicoles farm.
I went to school in santa cruz and some of my friends stuck around. Nicole was my next door neighbor in the dorms and i ended up living with her and my friend aaron my junior year in a house. Anyways, Nicole lives on this 100 acre hippie farm/commune place. There are about 10-14 people who live there at any given time and they all grow, eat and sell their own food. They have chickens, vegetables, goats, and every once in a while they kill a cow. Most of them live in urtes…which are round tents that they built on platforms and a coupoe live in tents, while the rest live in the main house on the property.
Tess and I got down there friday night and made some food. we then hung out with nicole and everyone and ended up sleeping on a wooden deck alongside a koi pond. The next day we got up around 7 something and had a delicious breakfast of potatoes, fresh eggs, oyster mushrooms, and toast with avacado. We then went into santa cruz for the day and walked around on the beach, did a little swimming and explored the downtown area.
While we were downtown we had the craziest weather…it was like 80 degrees out and then out of nowhere it started raining with lightening and thunder. apparently there were a few fires in the areas started by the lightening.
When tess and I got back to the farm we set up our tent in a field because we figured it would be more comfortable to sleep on grass then wood…(go figure) and then started to help make dinner and consume the large amounts of alcohol that were present for the solstice party that they were having that night. I ended up buying a 24 pack of long board ale from costco and that dissapeard in a number of hours. We ended up eating later then we expected and tess and I were very tired. We had been snacking all afternoon so by the time dinner rolled along we were pretty full anyways, but we managed to inhale some delicious hamburgers that we had been helping to prepare all afternoon from an old family cow named betsy…i think that was her name. we had to use a buzz saw to cut the meat up before we ground it because it had been previously frozen. The dogs were going crazy over the meat you should have seen them. Oscar tess’s dog ended up finding a good place to stand under the grinder and managed to get blood all over his face…yum :) . all in all it was a great weekend. I cant wait to see what this next weekend brings :) camp!

So…I am working on starting a business. It is going to be a web based advertising company with an emphasis on video production and sales. I am really excited. I have some great ideas, so now i just need to figure out how to bring them to life.I already have my federal tax ID number and I just need to go down to the county and city office to register my fictitious name and to get the basic business operation license. I am also working on typing up and organizing my business plan.
It is really an interesting process and i am learning a lot about what it takes to creat a start up. I just wish I had more computer experience. I think right now that is my biggest fear; just that I know I have a great idea but i dont know how to d make it work. So if anyone out there has a lot of experience with web design or marketing and such let me know.

Wow so my very own blog domain…fantastic…i know i don’t have any readers… yet but I know i will soon…and when i do you will all be very lucky. “why is that you may ask?”  come here let me tell you…its cus im awesome..in case you didn’t know that. im pretty popular…people know me. :) lol jk whatever anyways this is just my trial run…i hope it flys.

I am planning on using this blog mainly to document my life. I might use it to bicker or whine from time to time or even review a number of products in the hope of raking in large sums of dough which will quickly disappear as soon as they enter my account. However for the most part I will be exploring all the activities in my life and how they affect me and the loved ones i surround myself with. If you have a problem with this you can,  “Suck It Dry” as my girl Tess would say. :)

Some of the activities you can expect to hear about are (just to warn you here comes an extensive list of random activities)  : Food, Camping, Sports, Drinks, Parents, Friends, Cars, Traveling, Music, Movies, Books, Games, Work, School and a few other activities that can not be thought of at the moment.

Ok! Thats all folks…later
