I spent this last Saturday at the golden gate fields watching auto X. It was a lot of fun and I got tons of sun. I had a total raccoon face by the end of the day. My buddy Dan took first in the fsp group with his 1.5L 92 civic. Its crazy because when it comes to autocross you don’t need a very powerful car. The civic he drives is putting out about 115 hp at the crank and he still gets better times the Porsche gt3′s and rx-7′s. Good times become more dependent on the driver then on the car. The course itself also determines which cars will do the best. With a more technical track the smaller lighter cars tend to do better, however with long straights and wide turns the more powerful cars will get better times. what is fun about auto X is you get a good mix of both race cars not intended for street use as well as everyday drivers with headlights, car insurance and normal street tires. I have a childhood friend who just lost his brother in a motorcycle accident. Motorcycles are extremely dangerous and I feel bad that it had to happen to my buddy who has also lost his mother and father in the last 3 years. I wasn’t super close to Dave but I grew up with him he was always a nice shy quiet kid. I know he will be dearly missed by his friends and family. The accident was a single vehicle accident and no one else was hurt so I don’t think the family will be needing the services of a Oakland motorcycle accident lawyer. But it is nice to know there are people out there who specialize in helping families like my friends. On a happier note my friend dan just got first at a divisional race for auto X in his class. Good job buddy.

and I noticed that our society is becoming much more health conscious. We are starting to put up flashing lights at cross walks, sprinkler systems in every building, cameras on almost every corner and an AED in every building. I think its great. The more safety devices we have hopefully the less reckless deaths we incur. You can never be too prepared. Especially from my perspective and being in public safety….it is a good thing to have your citizens knowledgeable and able to aide there fellow citizens.

So my life has been pretty busy lately between work, the fire house and keeping up with everything else so I have been really enjoying my lovely gf allowing me to get out of the house lately to work on my car and get some much needed guy time. A few months ago I purchased some car parts off of a guy o a local subaru forum (with my tax return money) so I have been trying to take advantage of the free weekends and install the parts. The parts I purchased are 3″ turbo back Borla exhaust, aftermarket TMIC, STI Pink Injectors, Cobb ap V1 with maps, and an 18 G turbo from FP. Right now the car is at stage2 with 280 hp at the crank. I still have to install the injectors and turbo upgrade though. When those are installed I should be looking at 270hp at the wheels with a moderate tune. I just hope that I don’t have to get a new insurance quote because of the work I am doing. here are some pics of my gorgeous :)
