So T informed me today that it’s customary for the bride and groom to give each other a wedding gift on the wedding day. She asked me what I wanted, and I was thinking maybe famous cigars would be nice. I don’t smoke regularly, but every once in awhile I enjoy a good cigar. It’d be fun to light one up and celebrate at the reception. Now I just have to figure out what to get her…
T came home all excited today. She was working on a client project for a asbestos mesothelioma trust account. It generated enough work that she finally qualified for a bonus! So that’s all going to the wedding/honeymoon fund. Wahoo! It’s nice when she’s happy at work. At least one of us is! Hopefully soon things will turn around career wise for me and we’ll both be happy. We shall see.
Ever since we moved up the wedding date, it’s been all wedding talk, all the time. Ohhh joy. But at least she’s not a bridezilla. We’ve been talking about little ways we can save money but also make sure our guests enjoy themselves. One place we might save is on wedding favors. There are some really cheesy favors out there. There are some cool ones, like personalized playing cards. T and I both love playing cards, so if we were to buy favors, those would be them. We’ll probably just end up making our own, or just omitting them all together.
The other day we were talking to our couple friends who have kids about Disney vacation packages and going to theme parks. Now I don’t know about you but I can’t stand theme parks. If there weren’t so many people, it would be fun. Also, they should outlaw strollers, or get a stroller lane. Last time I went to Disneyland, I kept tripping over strollers. Pain in the ass! My kids are going to a theme park called Yosemite. Deal with it!
Yesterday I felt so bad. I accidentally stepped on T’s glasses. They weren’t exactly cheap prescription glasses either, they cost almost $400. I felt terrible, but luckily they didn’t break. Her job doesn’t provide vision insurance, but mine should kick in soon. Still, if she wouldn’t leave her glasses on the floor, I wouldn’t step on them! Sometimes my wife to be is such a blonde!
Work has been pretty boring lately. I can’t complain too much in this economy. At least it’s a job! T and I have been looking into getting a cheap auto insurance quote for once we’re married. Just trying to save wherever we can save. Luckily she’s a good little planner and the wedding is all saved up for. Now we can just focus on a nest egg. It’s nice to be contributing to our savings account too.
Our dog had to go to the vet today to get his back molar removed. Poor guy had chipped his tooth and his nerve was exposed. Ouch! Talk about the best appetite suppressants you could have. Poor boy. He came home so sad and out of it from the anestheia. Having him gone all day really made us miss him. He might be a pain in the ass sometimes, but he’s a sweet doggie.
Well we might change the date of our wedding. We’re not sure yet. A bunch of stuff has come up that I can’t really talk about yet. All I can say is it’s crazy stressful. Luckily my fiance has it all under control. The venue and the photographer have already put the credit card processing through, so we were worried about deposits. Luckily they were all really understanding and we may be able to switch the date without much of a problem and we won’t lose our deposits. I just know I want to marry her, so the sooner the better!
Our internet has been really frustrating lately. I’ve been thinking maybe we need to get a new Linksys router or maybe just upgrade our DSL package. But the good part about bad internet is it forces us to do more outside or just to turn the computer off. My girl spends way too much time on it as it is, with working online all day long. So I don’t know, maybe slow internet is a good thing.
