I’m thinking when I do eventually go to academy I’m probably going to need my own laptop. Otherwise I’d have to wrestle T away from hers, which is just a bad idea. ;-) I trust her to know what system memory I need and all of the other stuff. That’s the nice part about being with a computer genius. She hooks me up with the cool electronics and I use them! Hopefully I can get a cheap one that will do the job without breaking the bank.

I was watching the news last night, and in between obnoxious ads for promotional tote bags and other useless crap, we learned about the new universal healthcare bill that just passed. From what I can tell, we still don’t know much about how this is going to affect the average person. All I know is I don’t like the idea of it being a federal law. If this universal system doesn’t work for us, we can’t decide to move to another state and go back to the way things were. I like the idea of choice, and we don’t have that now. Plus doing things on a federal level doesn’t make sense with the varying income levels. 80,000 and up get taxed might mean the rich get taxed in some states, but here in the bay area, 80,000 is when you are just starting to really make it. You’re definitely not rich, you just can finally afford a house. Our country is going down the crapper, that’s all I know…

T and I have both been coughing a little bit lately and feeling pretty tired. We’ve both been so much healthier living in our new place than we ever were in our last apartment in Santa Rosa. I think maybe it’s because the old place had dust in the filters or maybe it was just the plants that grow in that area. Either way, this is the first time either of us has felt slightly under the weather. T attacked the house with disinfectant and cleaned it from top to bottom. Hopefully it’s just allergies and change of weather for both of us. The good news is I don’t have to work tomorrow night, woot! I have all day training at work. Hopefully I’ll have enough energy to go out for a beer with T and some friends. Or maybe we’ll just go to bed early with hot tea and a snuggie.

Is it just me or has the coverage of the Olympics gone way downhill in recent years? The 2010 Winter Olympics have had the worst coverage yet. All of these fluff pieces about the athletes, and then blatant favoritism of specific athletes make it so distracting. I wish it was like the good old days when you could choose what channel to watch the Olympics on, or skip around to you could watch more than one sport at once. Gone is the live coverage and instead we have to wait til prime time so the NBC execs can get their big paychecks. Grrr.

On the plus side, it’s still fun to watch the Olympics. Last night we watched the women’s downhill skiing. They were going so incredibly fast. Talk about the best weight loss supplement

Ok, still no job and now slowly no money. I’m trying to come up with ways to earn some extra cash while I wait for my damn job to start. I thought I could buy diet pills and then sell them online, but there’s already a market for that. I don’t really want to start up the cleaning company again and deal with complicated taxes if I’m just going to start the new job at the end of the month. What to do, what to do…right now I’m just looking for something else, and hoping something good comes along. I’m really starting to hate this crappy economy!

It’s about time that a spammer got in trouble for annoying internet users everywhere. Sanford Wallace has been ordered to pay up big time to Facebook for terrorizing Facebook users with spam messages and hacking their accounts. According to CNN’s article, Sanford is going to have to pay Facebook $711 million in damages.

I think it’s about damn time these spammers got caught. I’m so sick of junk mail, and of getting viruses just for using the internet.
