We had our bachelor/bachelorette party last night and it was so much fun. I couldn’t ask for a better group of friends. The guys didn’t drag me to some dirty club where you wouldn’t even want to touch the hand dryers. We had a house party and different games for me and T. We played a newlywed game, battle of the sexes and beer pong. We had silly hats, and everyone dressed in some version of animal print or black and white. It was a great night and I’m glad we have such thoughtful friends.

I think T and I have decided we’re not going to get each other wedding gifts since the wedding is so expensive as it is. I’m just lucky my future wifey isn’t a gold digger who demands I buy her wholesale diamonds and other expensive stuff. All she wants is time with me, and hopefully a honeymoon before our first year anniversary. If I have my way, we’ll definitely have one asap.

As we get closer to the wedding, all I seem to hear about are wedding plans. T called me on her lunch break today to ask me what kind of wedding favors I wanted us to have. We could have personalized soccer balls and it wouldn’t really matter to me. But I know it’s important to her so I try to hear her out. I will be relieved when all of this is done and we’re just married already. All this fuss and crap is just not my thing.

It’s crazy how fast the time has flown by. We have less than 100 days until we’re finally married. I’m just ready to be done with it and have T be mine. I mean, I’m sure the wedding will be fun and all, but I’m looking forward to the lifetime. T is super organized and pretty much took care of everything. I wouldn’t be surprised if she already purchased whole life insurance for the two of us.
I still have to write my vows, which is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I want them to be good, but not too sappy. I’m sure I’m going to cry. I know that sounds lame, but I don’t care. I’m just so happy to be sharing my life with T. I just wish we didn’t have to exchange our vows in front of everyone. I’m nervous as hell!

Tonight T and I were talking about how little the Groom has to do at his wedding. I really just have to show up. Beyond that, there’s not a whole lot of stuff I need to think about. For the bride, she’s not only worried about everything being set up just the way she wants it on the day of, but she’s also gotta worry about pre-wedding acne treatments, manicures, pedicures, spa treatments, weight loss, hair and makeup, and all kinds of other little things. I suppose I could work out a little bit more, but I’m wearing a tux. I don’t have to worry about my arms getting all toned for pictures or making sure I can squeeze into a dress. The Bride’s got it tough.
Here’s what the groom does have to do:
Make a toast
Write his vows
Get fitted for his tux
Buy the bride a gift (pretty important considering her to do list is ten times this size!)
I’ve been a good groom and contributed my opinion and helped make decisions on the venue, the food, and also the color of tuxedos. But that’s more than most would do! T is pretty lucky I guess ;-)

We just booked our vacation for T’s cousin’s graduation for next month in Oregon. I’m excited because I was able to get the weekend off from work so I get to go. It also happened to be the weekend of our 2 year anniversary so we get to celebrate that too. We ended up booking this cool cottage in Jacksonville, OR. Doesn’t it look nice? I just hope the contractor who built it went through
weatherization training. I’m worried it may be a little warm. But at least we have a nice private patio we can open the door to. Next month, can’t wait!

So T informed me today that it’s customary for the bride and groom to give each other a wedding gift on the wedding day. She asked me what I wanted, and I was thinking maybe famous cigars would be nice. I don’t smoke regularly, but every once in awhile I enjoy a good cigar. It’d be fun to light one up and celebrate at the reception. Now I just have to figure out what to get her…

T came home all excited today. She was working on a client project for a asbestos mesothelioma trust account. It generated enough work that she finally qualified for a bonus! So that’s all going to the wedding/honeymoon fund. Wahoo! It’s nice when she’s happy at work. At least one of us is! Hopefully soon things will turn around career wise for me and we’ll both be happy. We shall see.

Well we might change the date of our wedding. We’re not sure yet. A bunch of stuff has come up that I can’t really talk about yet. All I can say is it’s crazy stressful. Luckily my fiance has it all under control. The venue and the photographer have already put the credit card processing through, so we were worried about deposits. Luckily they were all really understanding and we may be able to switch the date without much of a problem and we won’t lose our deposits. I just know I want to marry her, so the sooner the better! :-)

Time really flies by. We just got an invitation to our good friends’ baby’s birthday party. At least they’re not religious and it wasn’t one of those first communion invitations. But the party is on a Sunday and I won’t be able to make it. It’s crazy to think about how many friends this little guy has. His parents are really popular so there’s going to be more people at this 1 year old’s party than our wedding! Haha. He’s a really cute little guy though, and he deserves a fun party. Too bad I have to miss it, but I know T will take lots of pictures for me!
