It’s crazy how fast the time has flown by. We have less than 100 days until we’re finally married. I’m just ready to be done with it and have T be mine. I mean, I’m sure the wedding will be fun and all, but I’m looking forward to the lifetime. T is super organized and pretty much took care of everything. I wouldn’t be surprised if she already purchased whole life insurance for the two of us.
I still have to write my vows, which is probably one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. I want them to be good, but not too sappy. I’m sure I’m going to cry. I know that sounds lame, but I don’t care. I’m just so happy to be sharing my life with T. I just wish we didn’t have to exchange our vows in front of everyone. I’m nervous as hell!
Tonight T and I were talking about how little the Groom has to do at his wedding. I really just have to show up. Beyond that, there’s not a whole lot of stuff I need to think about. For the bride, she’s not only worried about everything being set up just the way she wants it on the day of, but she’s also gotta worry about pre-wedding acne treatments, manicures, pedicures, spa treatments, weight loss, hair and makeup, and all kinds of other little things. I suppose I could work out a little bit more, but I’m wearing a tux. I don’t have to worry about my arms getting all toned for pictures or making sure I can squeeze into a dress. The Bride’s got it tough.
Here’s what the groom does have to do:
Make a toast
Write his vows
Get fitted for his tux
Buy the bride a gift (pretty important considering her to do list is ten times this size!)
I’ve been a good groom and contributed my opinion and helped make decisions on the venue, the food, and also the color of tuxedos. But that’s more than most would do! T is pretty lucky I guess
So Saturday was my cousin India’s wedding… it was a lot of fun. The food was great, the speeches hilarious and the drinks adequate. Unfortunately my girlfriend Tess wasn’t able to come but i guess it worked out ok because i agreed to help park people for the wedding to to the limited amount of space available to the guests for parking. We all know people can’t park themselves and that is is completely necessary for someone to tell them what to do…jk it was actually a pretty sticky situation and it probably was best that we had someone to direct everyone. It was just funny because you know how everyone has to look their best for weddings? Well there were a number of people who had nice shinny 4 -wheel vehicles who preferred not to drive on the dirt…to bad for them that was the only parking that existed up there. Other than the parking i had a huge amount of fun. It is always nice to see two people in love. I wish i had some pictures to post but unfortunately i am a guy and guys don’t take pictures.
Yay love is in the air my friends…love is in the air. I went to my first wedding ceremony this weekend…soo much fun. The wedding was for my friend Daniel and his fiance Katrina. They had a beautiful wedding out in Sebastopol. There were about 80 people with music, dancing, good food. I have known Daniel since he was four so it was nice to be able to share in this experience with him. I have probably known him the longest out of anyone there besides his brothers. Given there was a period of time where we lost contact, however. Daniel is probably one of the most caring and giving guys you would ever meet and I am just sad that his parents where not able to be there for this event (they have both passed away) , but it has always been the case that his friends are his family. As a Child he used to spend the whole day at my house everyday. As he got older if he wasn’t at my house he was at someone else’s, but he was rarely home. So it was great to see the number of friends who showed up to share in this day with him.
I didn’t meet Katrina until a year or so ago, after they were already engaged but she is a funny fun sweet beautiful girl. They truly are perfect together and I wish them my best with all my heart. I am also excited for the little one they have on the way…Katrina announced at the wedding that she is 9 weeks pregnant…so congrats to them on that too.
AAAAAAAAAAnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd guess what I have another wedding next week…woohoo…this is a family wedding. My cousin Eric and his fiance Laura are getting married and I am sure it will be fun too. Ill let ya know how it goes.
